Poolside

A sweltering hot day, didn’t even need a cardie up North at 5am for the red eye flight. An unpleasantly sticky day in the office but I did get bought an ice cream so there’s always a silver lining. Was heavenly diving into the open air pool for an after work cool off.

Word of the (heatwave) day: "swelter" - to be oppressed by heat; to sweat profusely, languish, or faint from excessive heat.
From the Old English "sweltan", meaning to die, to perish, to burn away.
