City of Spires

We spent the morning with Mum-in-Law in the lovely gardens at her new care home, then after saying our "goodbyes" we set off on the next leg of our whistle-stop tour of the country.
 
As you can see in today's photo, we're now in Oxford, "City of Spires": the photo was taken from the roof terrace of the very posh new Westgate Shopping Centre, just as the sun was setting. The light was lovely.
 
Oxford is very special to us, as I studied here many moons ago, as did two of our sons rather fewer moons ago. What's more, we spent the first 3 nights of our honeymoon here too (also quite a lot of moons ago!). Although the day has been rather uncomfortably hot, the temperature on this balmy evening was just right for wandering around the city in shorts & T-shirt. Rather wonderful - we're very lucky.
