Summer Days in The Fens - Day 7!
Messing about on the River Great Ouse, Ely
Another scorcher of a day, 30°C, and another bus trip into Ely. In search of a cooling breeze, I bought a ticket for a cruise on the River Great Ouse. It was only a half hour boat trip, but it was such a lovely, peaceful experience, sailing out into The Fens, past Herons and Water Lilies, returning with views of Ely Cathedral, (easy to see why it’s known as The Ship of The Fens).
After my time on the water, I popped in to the Babylon Gallery for a look at their exhibition of lithographs and pochoir of spanish painter, sculptor and ceramicist Joan Miró. Then before heading home, a quick tour of the shops and a whistle stop visit to the library to post a backblip!
In extras today, some riverside scenes, including a very cheeky duck who knew where he could pick up a mid-morning snack, as you can see if you look at my last extra!
(Another backblip. Thank you for your kind comments, hearts and stars for my recent blips. Managed to catch up with some of you on one of today’s four trains, but didn’t arrive back home until early evening, after a very long, hot and tiring journey, so will finally catch up with the rest of you tomorrow.)
