One day bloom

Today was difficult to choose a photo for. I took one of my shadow on a walk, and the beautiful reflection of trees on a pond. They were natural choices, but I couldn’t not share my flower.

This flower is special. It’s stunning in its beauty, in part because it usually flowers once a year.

Except it flowered again.

We originally got two flowers in one go - a massive surprise. Then just a few weeks later - today - we got flower number three.

Yesterday the bud was ready.
This morning it opened out.
This afternoon it started to go a bit limp.
This evening the flower was over.

It’s a blink and you miss it flower, and I am so blessed to catch it in full bloom.

How could I not share something so special?
