We are led to believe that all over the country people are desperate for work, especially in the building trade. Some months ago we started looking for someone to make the approach to our house a little easier. The first took details, made arrangements to look at the job and give a quote, he never came. The next four came, took details and measurements and discussed suitable materials. None were heard from again. I mentioned all this in a chance conversation with an aquaintance. He said he knew of a reliable builder who had done work for a relative and would I like his number. The rest, as they say, is history.
I hope it doesn't all end in tears!
