Clydesdale
A relaxed and slow morning before we packed up and headed home. One thing which took a lot of time was this boy and his young friend. Last night while out for a walk we spotted them in the field across the road. They were very friendly coming over to us when we stopped to admire them. So we just had to pay them another visit.
They are Clydesdales, a "heavy" horse which in my youth were more common than tractors round where we lived. As the name suggests their origin is near the Clyde in Scotland. The breed is used by the household cavalry to carry the large drums.
We managed the putting away of the awning, much more easily than we put it up ;-). Fortunately it was dry and warm so no worries about drying out canvas. In the evening it was out fortnightly evening out with Kanyl, so a very pleasant way to round off our few days.
