Star anise
I've always loved star anise - the way they look and the way they smell. I used them in our dinner the other night, and am always looking for different ways to cook with them.
Poor Abe is most likely going to have to be knocked out next week so that the vet can clean out his little ears properly. The wax isn't shifting and he's scratching at them. It's getting to the stage, where he's getting very sensitive about his ears being touched and at 15.7 kg (yes, he's put on 400 g in two days!), we can force him to let us; when he's nearer 40 kg, we'll be struggling. It's best to get them cleaned up now and then we can get on with desensitising him to having his ears handled.
Apart from that, Little Miss had an okay day at school and is now happy to have a three-day weekend.
Nikau is wandering around wanting attention and love and Abe is fast asleep in his crate. It's a normal night in the Barking household.
I'm making sweet potato chips and kale crisps to go with our dinner. Nom nom.
