Where there's smoke
...there's fire.
Forest fire season is upon us once again. The smoke in the distance across Okanagan Lake was just one of 3 fires started by lightning in one day. I took this photo about an hour and a half drive from where we live and the threat of forest fires is very real. The campfire ban is on and logging trucks are no longer allowed to drive the mountain logging roads in the event machinery sparks the dry tinder. Some idiot threw their cigarette out of the window last week and started a fire at the bottom of our mountain. Thankfully it was put out quickly. I can't live in fear and so refuse to give into the 'what if' but with keen awareness do my part in keeping our mountain safe and green.
