CLAAS Tucano 440 cutting wheat.

Huge combines and monster tractors you can see almost anywhere around here as the harvest gets into full swing... Not so easy to find smaller machines working on family farms though. I was pleased to see this CLAAS Tucano 440 getting stuck into a field of wheat this morning, it was quite early and the temperature as already 30ºC so I didn't stay too long.

There are still smaller family farmers about but I guess the huge machines are well beyond their means, too big for the smaller fields and gates and not suited to the type of work that needs to be done. 

This afternoon the temperature in our garden in the shade was 33ºC and we had a rumble or two of thunder in the distance, but only about 3 spots of rain... hopefully we'll get some proper rain later.
