Maria statue at sunset

The Mariamonument is located on top of the Gulperberg in a park surrounded by a large lawn with many benches. From this place, one has a beautiful view of the surroundings.

13-meter-high pedestal with a large statue of the Virgin Mary, decorated on four sides with mosaics and the names of the parishes that belonged to the government Gulpen.

History

The monument was placed in 1935 by all parishes that then belonged to the government Gulpen, close to the place wherein 1834 a Mission Cross was placed.

Tonight she looks out over God's creation. How wonderfully beautiful a sunset can be.
