The hat

Everytime I've been at the hospital recently this hat has been in a different location. The first I saw it was on a table, then on a chair, then the back of a chair, then on top of a water machine, and today it was on the hat rack part of a coat stand which is probably the best location for it. I wonder if someone's forgotten about it, or if its some kind of psychological test to see who notices and if anyone tries it on...
