Wound up in Wexford

Another project completed

These little cross stitch pictures were actually sewn by Mum.  She was a prolific needlewoman, but unlike me, most of her projects were fully finished.  So I suspect that these were one of the last things she made before the Alzheimer's got so bad she couldn't continue.  She had bought the backing cloth.  I've added some piping cord, and hangers.

And I've stuffed them with some Kapok-like stuffing bought very cheap from Abakhan's when we lived in Wales in the mid '80s.  At the time, the Mostyn store was the original and only store, and it was a veritable Aladdin's cave of bargains.  One could pick up lovely cross stitch kits for pennies, and they sold material seconds by the weight, rather than the length - I bought much of my curtaining from them.  Having Googled them to find something to link, I am astounded at the way the group has grow'd like Topsy.  I don't suppose their bargains are as good now, though.

I gather there are thunderstorms around the country - can someone send one here, please, we are totally stifled by the heat.
