Barebone tree
I'm not a great one for poetry, but looking out my office window these trees make me think of Norman MacCaig poems. I like his simple imagery of the branches making cages for stars and planets and his preference for the barebone trees of winter rather than spring's sudsy flowers.
The delicate maze of ever smaller branches also make me think of lungs, bronchi, bronchioli and the ever smaller parts of the bronchial tract.
