SILLY SATURDAY

We didn’t go to Jack’s last week, but thought we should go this week to keep them solvent!  Mr. HCB offered to pay, so we had an egg and bacon roll and coffee, which we enjoyed.

As you may know, we generally meet up with several friends in there - Trevor and Louise are still on holiday in their camper van and are in Spain at the moment;  they messaged me earlier this week and said they thought it was probably hotter in the UK than where they were staying.  

We sat at the next table to Margaret and had a good chat with her before more friends came in.  It never ceases to amaze me how knowledgeable she is about Formula One Racing!  I think it was a little difficult for her when our egg and bacon rolls arrived, as she is a vegetarian, so I just told her to look away!

Our friends, Dave and Gill, came in a little later and sat at a table at the other side of us, and as we hadn’t seen them for about six weeks, we had a lot to catch up on.  Mr. HCB and Dave talked about cricket and football while Gill and I talked about our families.  We have been through many “ups and downs” together, and it is always good to see them.  When I saw that Dave had a “Lazy Jacks” tee shirt on, I decided that he would make a good Blip for Silly Saturday - not that I am saying he is lazy or silly, you understand.

Mr. HCB said that we had had a small amount of rain at about 5.30 this morning, but not enough to do any good, but whilst we were in Jack’s, the heavens opened and anyone out in the thunder storm would have been drenched.  However, it soon stopped and much like the nursery rhyme about Incy Wincy Spider -  “out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain….” so we are still waiting for a decent amount of rain - a steady downpour during the night would be very welcome.
