Outhouse
To Woolton, a suburb of Liverpool, planning a forthcoming Superlative Walk around various Beatles locations.
Outhouse is located on Menlove Avenue, a few hundred metres from Mendips, which was John Lennon's childhood home. It was designed by Vong Phaophanit and Claire Oboussier and promoted in 2005 by the Liverpool Housing Action Trust. It is intended to be a reduced version of new terraced houses built nearby.
Today, we also joined the crowds at Strawberry Fields, many of whom did not arrive on foot. Later, in Calderstones Park, we had a look at the eponymous Calderstones - six sandstone blocks carved with symbols in the late Neolithic or early Bronze age.
Then we visited the Allerton Oak, near which is a sign saying it is 1000 years old. I reckon the sign must be at least 12 years old so that makes the oak 1012.
