Carnage

Attended my third and final welfare briefing session in Cardiff today. I'm not going to turn the pleasure of blip into an area where I vent personal / political beliefs BUT
I like the headline 'people in work will be better off than people on benefits' but the number and range of changes that will hit the poor and vulnerable next April is daunting. Many changes seem ill conceived and I don't see how they incentivise work which is at the core of the rationale.
Welfare and the tax system do need a radical overhaul but fairness, equality, opportunity and aspiration should be the drivers not ridiculous stereotypes of the scrounging, feckless and work shy.
