The Gorges Du Verdon

An early morning leave from our villa for the last time. We headed into the hills and Castellane. Here we had a little adventure.

We went aqua trekking. Dressed in wetsuits, life jackets and climbing helmets, we threw ourselves into the ice cold water in the gorge and swam/floated in the currents. At times it was calm and peaceful, the ravines were however more tricky! The views from the base of the gorge looking up from the water were fabulous and would be tricky to access by other means, next time I need a waterproof camera. We also enjoyed leaping off rocks several metres up, back into the waters below. A couple of kilometres downstream we were done, it was a bit of a hike back but such a fun thing to do.

Then it was back on the road and on towards Grenoble where we are staying tonight. I (Chris) stopped the car for this view back towards Castellane before It left our view.
