Rock and Blues

This is an annual custom bike show that takes place quite close to us and as one of Sav’s friends has a bike entered ( the orange and black one in the centre pic ), he wanted to attend. I wasn’t bothered until I saw King King were playing today!

As well as a marquee of custom bikes there are the usual food and retail outlets, a few funfair rides, a wood sculptor, 3 bars and 3 music stages, Main, Outdoor and Acoustic. Mostly I was people watching, well, tattoo watching really! It was a beautiful sunny day, so there was a lot of exposed inked flesh ( not always a welcome sight I have to say, but you gotta take the rough with the smooth! ).

The pole dancers were a surprise! They were supplied by the event company, not the bands ... Alan Nimmo, King King's lead singer, had to pull himself together to concentrate on his guitar! In the photo bottom right he’s trying to hide, and asking for his “ mammy “! At the end of the set he asked us to give them a cheer for their efforts. They were definitely struggling with the clammy conditions in the marquee, the pole was getting too slippery for them to get a decent grip. I applauded just to show respect to the fact they can even walk in the shoes they wear, nevermind cling to a greasy pole!
