View from the shore
This morning I volunteered to help out with the Skiffie Festival at Delamont country park. Yesterday much of the racing was cancelled because of the weather, it was just too stormy! So this morning I duly presented myself at the admin caravan to be assigned a task - I was handing out hi-vis vests and wristbands to each team, and making sure they all came back again. The first race was at 10am, the last one at 5pm, at 30 minute intervals all day. It was fascinating, and the organisation that went into it simply astonishing - you don't realise until you're actually there and working, just what organisation it takes. I finished my stint about 1-30pm, and stopped at the reptile exhibit for a look - and a chance to drape a python around my shoulders - before heading back home. I had a great time, despite the damp and dismal weather! My blip is the view from the awning under which all the hi-vis vests and wristbands were accumulated, right by the entrance to the pontoon - no one got onto the pontoon without their wristband!
