Today we attended the wedding of a good friend's son.  It was a lovely wedding, with a very modern and lively service in a delightful church (modern hymns which I didn't recognise, but with a band performing them which helped to mask any lack of participation from the congregation).  Afterwards the reception was held in a huge marquee in a field opposite the bride's parents' house.

The rain yesterday and overnight had cleared the air and the temperatures were much more reasonable, and the day was mainly dry with a lot of sunshine.  The only shower we had was during the meal when everyone was inside the marquee.  Before and after that, we were able to get out into the fresh air.

In the evening we were entertained by an excellent band (the two singers are my blip for today) and the dance floor was full all evening.

A really enjoyable and successful day; the months of detailed planning and preparation paid off.
