A Day At A Time.

Manilva

It has been the Manilva feria for the past few days. The locals have been partying late into the night every night, with loud music echoing across the valley till nearly five in the morning.

Last night it ended with a dramatic firework display about 12:30.

Which promptly set the countryside on fire. The bomberos were still fighting the flames this morning, the coast road was closed and chaos ruled for Monday morning.

It seems all is under control now, but a few houses were threatened and a few owners worried for a while. Apparently some people were evacuated from their homes.

You'd think they'd realise that fireworks in the Spanish campo in late July is the worst idea since someone thought it would be good thinking to go all the way round roundabouts in the outside lane without indicating.
