Pop the Poppies
The Boss noticed this little drama yesterday on the way home from Cromwell but the light was not about then so at the crack of dawn...Er ...8.00 am after breakfast...we...Him and ME... loaded tripod and camera into Suzz and cruised back to this spot.
Thankfully there was NOT an electric fence...Allison please note..so he just had to be careful to avoid the barbed wire top strand but did get in and got the shot...before noticing the little battery indicator thingie that was trying to tell him something. Luckily that is a bit like modern pertrol gauges in cars that thankfully tell lies too. If they didn't The Bossess would have been stranded even more than she has 'Cos she has "Female Disease" really bad. That's the one that prevents females from ever noticing or reading gauges in cars until a bell sounds, a red light flashes and an email is sent to your mobile phone. Sigh
The rest of the day was a bit of a downer 'Cos we spent ages waiting for something and finally it happened and we went Stickploring and met some lovely folk from England Swings (which is what The Boss always says) Lord knows what they thought about this bearded bloke and his very wet dog. NO I DID'NT err...well maybe I did shake just a little bit but they accepted that as a dog thing and will not report us to the tourist board I hope.
We do see a lot of UK folk here and it is Grand. Lovely UK sort of word that...Grand.
The Poppies are Californian Poppies that grow wild in the Cromwell area and are much revered by photographers like The Boss. My Friend Peter says they are called "Sleeping Jonnies" because they close up at night but Mr Google was having none of that. Sorry Pete.
POP into the pic.
