Checkers

A grandma and a granddaughter play a game at the Mast Store in Valle Crucis, in the North Carolina mountains. Today we played a round of golf and visited this shop before returning back to our cabin in the woods.

I neglected to mention yesterday that we visited and walked in two state parks: Mount Jefferson State Park and New River State Park. The first was a mountain top walk through a rhododendron forest, and the second a walk first along the river and then up through a forest of pines and hardwoods. It was there that we had a picnic lunch. That was all followed by a vineyard visit and dinner.
