Not just another brick. ...
....in the wall.
Last night I was fascinated by the roots of a huge tree that were growing into the wall of the restaurant we were eating in.
We were in the Burmese restaurant we frequent and we got chatting to the owner, a young Thai lady, who was telling us how she had literally built the restaurant from scratch. She loves to cook and devised the menu herself and taught her staff to cook her recipes. She was inspired after visiting Burma and enjoying their cuisine. She also brought back the beautiful puppets, which I have featured on here before. Other art works were left to her by a gentleman who had a restaurant next to hers and treated her like a daughter. He also left her his tables and chairs and she keeps all these items in memory of the friend who gave her so much encouragement. , She is shortly going to Perth, Australia, where she wants to create a business as a Private Chef. Her small restaurant in ChiangMai is her baby and the running of it will be left in the capable hands of her business partner, who manages the restaurant.
