Helmsley Walled Garden

We’ve had a lovely day.  We met up with Paula (Pixelfoto) and Guy in Helmsley and after coffee and toasted fruit bread (well for some of us) we visited the walled gardens, which we’ve never done before, and they are huge and looking very good at the moment.  The central walkway that is planted with perennials is excellent.  There were lots of lovely plants for sale too, but maybe we need a specific visit just to buy plants when I finally get around to deciding how I’m going to replant the garden.  We also met a lovely German man as we struggled to pay for our car-parking.  I think he was heading for the castle but we passed him heading towards the walled garden as we came away.  I hope they enjoyed their visit too.
