2 out of 3 ain’t bad

Only 2 kids on the family holiday this year. Grace chose a music festival in Barcelona over a fortnight in our friend’s villa in Spain. She’s 17. She’s in a foreign country with a bunch of mates, she’s got to get there and to Valencia and back, find a tent, find an apartment they’ve booked, keep safe, keep alive and keep in touch.

Strangely I’m not as concerned as I thought I might be. I’m more proud of her than anything. She’s a good kid. Sensible and safe. Speaks a bit of Spanglish. She’ll be fine. She’ll survive. She’ll thrive.
