Legacy of Punk
There's a subterranean warren of stairs and ramps under the Marylebone Flyover, who someone has thoughtfully named after the lead singer of The Clash.
In the half hour or so I spent hovering around the four exits trying to get a good picture, I saw only three people emerge. Each individual walking or cycling fast to avoid trouble. It's probably one of least appealing walkways in London.
I of course ran into trouble (if you can call it that) at ground level.
One of the exits is outside Paddington Green Police Station, which until recently was a high security operation used to house terrorism suspects. I had it in mind that they had decommissioned it. Not so.
A good natured Bobby came out to check my identity (which was fair enough), then kept on being interrupted by a Middle Eastern chap asking directions to Oxford Street.
