Poppy seed head

The weather has been fairly mixed over the last few days and we have had quite a bit of much needed rain as well as sunshine.
I was struck by the pattern on this poppy seed head. It reminds me of a star anise.
 It's amazing how quickly signs of autumn are beginning to appear. Harvesting has started in some fields and the rowan berries are ripening.
I decided to try framing the picture before posting and I'm quite pleased with the result.
