I remember when we had such fun
The attic clear Out continues.
Apart from a sword, A military medal, the kids’ little hospital tags; pink for baby girl cruse and blue for baby boy cruse -my box was the treasure find for tonight
Filled with mementoes from my Student years; I sat awash with memories as I reread letters from my mates at home; my flatmate; my sister, my mum, my Nant and of course my da. How lovely to hear his daft stories to me again tonight telling me of his golf and the local town talk.
My rent cards are there £125 for the period between 8th Jan and 6 th April. Yip. All that money. Amazing
My student cards which granted me access to the student union; ours and Herriot Watt. My bus passes - displaying my floppy fringe and my student glare .
And then a scribbled note from my mum - telling me that the sailor I met at the weekend was stuck at sea - and he wouldn’t be able to meet me as promised. And then another note, an hour later; he was so annoyed he couldn’t get to port he wanted to write to me. And she hoped it was okay but she had given him my address.
And the letter - addressed only to Helen; cause he had no idea what my surname was .
And most excitingly - a readers digest from 2000 which am going to read tonight! Meg Ryan didn’t have a plastic face then :)
