Fortrose and Rosemarkie across the Firth

We went out to Fort George today, home of The Black Watch Regiment, for the tour of the barracks.
Fort George was built on the Ardersier Penisular after the Battle of Culloden in the reign of King George the 2nd.
From the ramparts we could look across the Moray Firth and see Fortose village on the left and Rosemarkie village on the right. This stretch of water is very good for spotting Bottle Nose Dolphins in. Most visitors watch them from Channory Point across on the other side of the Firth. There is a nice clean beach on this side below the ramparts of the fort. So there you have it, my blip for today, Fortrose & Rosemarkie across the Firth.
