Nearby castle

At the village of Castle Rising; and its wordy title is Castle Rising Castle. This is taken (handheld) under the arch of the castle gate which was once equipped with a portcullis.

Building started in 1138. It is owned by Lord Howard and under the care of English Heritage. The castle is a few minutes' drive from home.
