Surprised...

by such a lovely day, hot and sunny with temperatures rising to 25C , when forecasts and the radio are telling me it is grey and wet!!! Beautiful all day!
Also, surprised up here at the lochan to see a White tailed eagle sitting on the fence! Got a sort of shot before it flew off but couldn't make out its id tags. Presume it is a youngster from its behaviour. 
Surprise number three was when a Small Copper butterfly landed right next to me. Thought they had finished for the year!
Lots of Black Darters, feeding, mating and laying at the lochan.
After, sat in the sun and peaceful surroundings and read Maurice Walsh. Am rereading these books by this Irishman, a great friend of Neil Gunn, as they are about this immediate area and beautifully written in a style of it's time, 1920/40.
