All In A Day's Work...

What a day!

Spent the afternoon photographing my friend geld (castrate) wild colts as part of my photojournal project...plenty of Blip opportunities!!

Then, a phone call to say a beautiful Scottish Deerhound bitch was struggling to have her puppies naturally - mad dash to get one child from school, do a rapid (7 minutes in and out!) Asda shop for a pizza tea then to the school to collect second child before haring to the clinic just as the puppies started to arrive....out the sunroof (by Caesarian section!)

All hands on deck drying and stimulating puppies to breathe, nurse and receptionist proving their weight in gold - the kids first experience of birth. They took to the puppy warming/rubbing duties like pros....8 squirmy squeaky puppies at the end!

Never ever tire of birthing....always a privilege.

A quick nip to the chip shop for Angus as he sat with mum and puppies making sure all was well then home to find my friend from France patiently waiting on the doorstep......a very late pizza tea, a wee glass or two of wine.... Angus eventually came home, very late and very bedraggled....

We all slept in this morning!!!
