Watchbird

We drove over the hill to do a couple errands and have a nice dim sum lunch in Cupertino. I love congee and, even though it seems to be just cooked rice, I can't get it to taste the way it does in a good restaurant, so I'm always glad for a nice hot bowl.

On the way home we stopped for a stroll in Vasona Park, which has a big reservoir. It was hotter than we're used to at home, but the breeze off the water was lovely. The heron was standing at the base of a little waterfall, intent on the possibility of dinner. So silent, so patient.
