The Fish Slapping dance

The egret version . I love early AM walks on the beach because you see all sorts of interesting things. I have never seen a long legged wader bird in the surf before , but there are a lot of (sometimes quite large ) fish here.You can't let the  osprey have them all! The osprey was not having the best time of it trying to grab one, though he did manage a good sized fish on his fifth try.The first day I did not take the camera for the walk and it was the only day the ruddy turnstone with two chicks was on the beach.
But our intrepid surf fisher  did catch several fish and seemed quite good at getting in above his ankles .
