One Crowded Hour

By GlassRoad

pete's patch...

...is an ongoing verge garden project and delight that Astro and I wander by on our afternoon walk.
The ground in the hills is unforgiving, stony and dry but with perseverance, kitchen scraps and eager worms he has created beds that now grow potatoes, onions and more leafy veggies than a stir fry could handle...oh and a coffee bush too.

The lemon tree, planted a couple of years ago as a spindly leftover from a garden centre closing down sale, is now laden with fruit despite the fact it seems to have returned to spiny root stock.
'Please help yourself' he said and there is rocket, chillies and parsley for wanderers on the verge to harvest too.

The generosity of neighbours.
Wonderful.
