No train...no drivers.....no improvement!

First...we had an afternoon in London enjoying a delicious lunch and catch up in Cote with family Blippers, Pamela and Ian, Mr and Mrs Wackywebs. Lovely to see you both.

No one needs to read this para but I want it on record. Rushed to catch our train home, got it just in time at St Pancras.... and then our train hell started. First stop Finsbury Park...change drivers...no drivers available....one on his/her way and will arrive soon...20 mins later, an anouncement.... driver has arrived at the station...no, driver has been taken ill....wait for another driver.. another announcement .....train will now not stop at 5 of the originally planned 7 stations...we must get off at Stevenage and wait for another train which will stop at our station.....which we do....our new train should arrive in Stevenage in 20 mins....but it can't get into the platform....why? because there is another train there that can't depart because it hasn't got a driver......we wait another 15 mins for new driver...the other train departs.....our new train arrives after 10 more minutes and we eventually arrive at our home station just under 2 hours late. The poor folk who have to go through this every day!!



On a more positive note. Chilled vichyoisse soup, artichoke and goats cheese risotto and creme caramel for Pam and me. It was delicious.
