A susurration of starlings

No photographic merit in this snap, more a record of a massed flock of - I think - starlings taken near Gretna Green at 4.30 this evening.

The sky darkened with the sheer volume of birds and I snapped away, little realising that what I thought was the gentle whirr of wings was not so ! - the car resembled a multi spotted set of dominoes and I was lucky to escape with minor personal damage.
