Day 106 - York Museums

First stop of the day was Jorvik - which despite the negative reviews I'd read I thought I would give it the benefit of the doubt. The ride through a Viking street was fun. The admission price was not. Nor were the two coach loads of school children which were squeezed into the tiny museum. In the afternoon visited York Castle Museum. Which was actually really good. From the Victorian street you could stroll through - to the ridiculously colourful swinging sixties display. Though the highlight was York Prison - which beautifully blended the original surroundings with modern technology to tell the stories that the walls had seen. And barely a child in sight.
