Visiting My Father Again!
Today we visited my father’s plot at the woodland burial ground again. I visit often and on nicer days I take a blanket, some snacks, my iPad and Wi-fi dongle. I sit there for hours sharing my life with him. Some folks have said that I am completely bonkers but it really comforts me.
We are still awaiting the installation of his oak plaque beside the tree in place of the current wooden stick with mine and his surname written on either side.
It’s a great spot. I am all for an eco friendly woodland burial but at 30 years old I’m too young to reserve a spot for myself unless I am terminally ill or similar. I am told that they have had too many young folk reserve plots to then move away from the area a few years later and demand their money back.
Now back to South Cambridgeshire where we will hopefully meet the man who has had the task of restoring some old heirloom family chairs. I hope he has done a good job.
I will probably visit the woodland burial ground again once my father’s plaque has been made and then installed.
