Potting up my cannas
We had that lie in and were downstairs by 9. Jon had a busy day of plumbing planned, Mollie was heading in to Cromer to see Josh and others, Henry just stays in bed as long as possible. So my day started with Jon and we drove to Sheringham for the market. We bought our fruit and veg, so with yesterday’s shopping in Lidl and Morrison’s, my total bill is down to £88. I’m pleased with that. We treated ourselves to a coffee (I had tea) in the cafe opposite the station. It was nice to watch all the holiday makers. It was a busy town today. We drove home via Cromer Homebase, where we fairly quickly chose some floor tiles. They were different to what we had been looking at, but were fine for a toilet floor and cheap.
Home at midday and Jon headed to the garage to start a full afternoon of plumbing. Through the walls he put up last week, running along the two walls, around the corner and out through the other wall to the space where the washing machine is going to be. He has only just finished so it has been about 7 hours work. Henry has been helping him, and at one point was drilling through the wall, so I think has been learning a lot today.
I repotted 2 of the cannas I bought on holiday and have one left to sort out tomorrow. I weeded some of the gravel drive, but it was hot, so I still have more to do. I peeled the last of my shallots so should have enough to pickle another small jar tomorrow after they have been in the brine for 24 hours.
We’ve had a very filling curry from Morrison’s and are now watching the film Ant Man. As far as these super hero type films go, I quite like this one!
