Sunday morning sailing
I went out early for a jog on the beach south from Southend to Algies Bay. I was intrigued by the numerous kotare perched on rocks, tree branches, and even on the ground, waiting for the incoming tide to flush out something for them to catch and eat. The light was low, and on the wrong side for good photos, until I rounded the corner and heard one up high in a tree above the beach. I've included that as an extra.
Later, mid morningish, I saw a fleet of yachts below the cliff. It looked as though they might have been competing, but more likely it was the Algies Bay sailing school out for some training.
