Marshmallow

Althaea Officinalis
This is an amazing perennial plant that grows in my daughter’s garden. It’s so beautiful and comes up regularly each year and can grow up to 6ft tall (1.5 meter average). She has many stems like this one in front of her decking. The stem dies back to the roots and the next year the shoots come up from the ground. The roots are the original marshmallow sweet. I had it on an allotment originally but gave that up many years ago as it was such hard work digging the clay soil down here.
