Him & Me

Good guys...

Ferguson & I attended the remembrance service up on a hill high above Greenfield. The peak itself is colloquially known as "pots n pans" I think perhaps due to the shapes of the rock formations.
An obelisk is situated here in order that it can be seen from each of the 7 villages that lost lives during WWI &WWII. I understand it to be one of the countries highest war memorials at 1,200ft.
It was a fair old hike for a 35 & 4 year old but I was really glad we went.
There were so many people & it was really quite humbling to see. At the strike of 11, the winter mist seemed to clear momentarily & the sun shine so bright. It was quite poetic.
I went about explaining to Ferguson about why we were there & this was his summary:
"This is where people come to remember the good guys who were killed fighting the bad guys. The good guys were daddies, brothers, sisters, sons & aunties & they are missed by their families & it's sad sometimes. There is a list of names of these people but Grandad Stan is not there, he's just in heaven."
