...on the horizon, some 15 miles away. A pleasant one hour’s walk in full sunshine brought us to Houns Tout, some 160 yards above the Channel waters. Down in the valley are Encombe House and Dairy (this depicted). The estate had been sold a few years ago for 20m£ (definitely over our means).
