Salutation Hotel

We are spending the weekend in Perth to celebrate a birthday. After we had lunch we had a wander around the city centre.

The camera was attracted to the Salutation Hotel with the two Scottish soldiers in recesses in the facade. According to its website "The Salutation Hotel is situated in the heart of the historic City of Perth. Reported to be the Oldest established hotel in Scotland, the Salutation has been welcoming guests through its doors since 1699. One of the most famous patrons to sample our hospitality was Bonnie Prince Charlie who stayed here in 1745...".

We are staying in rather more modern accommodation would not have been built until many centuries after the passage of Prince Charles through Perth.
