Grateful

Many years ago my dear Mum bought me a sewing machine as a birthday present. I can remember being less than thrilled! I was never especially good at needlework and thought it was a waste of a present. However, over the years I have often been grateful for this present. Today was no exception. V and I decided instead of her paying £300 for a certain shop to make her new curtains we would have a go ourselves with the trusty sewing machine.

We had lots of laughs along the way and a few worrying moments BUT the curtains are up and though I say so myself look mighty fine! So everyone is delighted and we saved £300! Can't be bad. I wonder if my Mum knew all along how useful her present would be?
