Bench
A lovely day, celebrating the life of an old colleague of M's from the OU. Every Wednesday when the Maths Summer School was held at Stirling University, everyone would walk up Dumyat.
His widow decided that the top of the hill was the perfect place for a commemorative bench, which she designed, circular with a central hole, representing a black hole (he was involved with some clever calculations about them, in conjunction with the great Roger Penrose.)
The best bit of the day (month/year/life) was that M and I got a trip in the helicopter to the top! Only took about two minutes, but amazingly fun!
Here is the bench arriving, to be united with the base on top of the hill. It will provide a lovely spot to contemplate the amazing views of Stirling and the whole Forth Valley
