Ramblings from Zambia....

Luangwa bridge....

So this morning I set off from Lilongwe and drove back to Lusaka.  Am tired tonight but it was a good drive apart from between 20 and 30 police road blocks - some looking for lunch, some money, some fanta!!  Needless to say, I gave them nothing!  Even at the border crossing where there is a big sign saying no bribing....

It has warmed up considerably since I left Zambia last week which is great!  On the way to Lusaka this bridge goes over the Luangwa river which at the height of the rains is completely full and fast flowing.  It is a suspension bridge and only one vehicle can cross at a time!  I stopped today to take a picture of it because there was little traffic!

Am glad to be home after a wonderful week of meeting old friends and some new friends too!  Of course, there is no water in my house (and because I had used the buckets of water before I left, I mean literally no water)!  Hopefully it will come in the morning!
