The Girl with the Pearl Earrings

I looked in the bag I got from my MIL last Saturday, to find these earrings in the bag with the blood pressure monitor I got for my birthday the other night.
She had mentioned something about "relatively inexpensive pearls", but I had thought they hadn't arrived yet.
She might have got a better smoke of gratitude if she'd produced these at the dinner as my gift instead of the BP monitor !
